Hi, I’m Elsa – a wildlife ecologist, educator, and lifelong nature lover. My journey with nature started in my family’s orchard and has since taken me across continents, from planting trees with a women’s cooperative in Tanzania to managing urban orchard projects in the UK. Along the way I’ve worked as a wildlife ecologist, park ranger, project manager, and in urban forestry, but the thread running through it all has been a love for growing food, creating habitats, and bringing people together.
Through Little Creatures Ecology, I’ve found a way to combine those passions. I’m excited about growing food while enhancing habitat for our wild friends. Permaculture, forest gardening, and community orcharding are great examples of how we can do just that! I love nothing more than getting my hands in the soil alongside others. Whether it’s planting heritage apple trees, digging wildlife ponds, planting native hedgerows, or sowing pollinator‑friendly plants, I’m inspired by the way these projects create thriving habitats for both people and wildlife.

Collaboration is at the heart of my work. I believe regeneration starts from the ground up – in our soils, our gardens, and our relationships. My aim is to create welcoming spaces where people feel encouraged to learn, share, and explore. With workshops, wildlife walks, and hands‑on biodiversity projects, I hope to spark curiosity, build practical skills, and help others find joy and connection in caring for the land.
If you share a love for growing, planting, and creating spaces where nature and people flourish together, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s see what we can grow, together.

I obtained my MSc in Environmental Resource Management with a concentration in Ecosystems and Biodiversity. I wrote my thesis on Agroforestry practices in Europe and am currently on the board of Agroforestry Northwest.
